Gardco Lighting

Gardco Lighting is a pioneer in the professional outdoor lighting industry. Whether branded as Gardco or Philips Gardco, the luminaires and accessories the company produces are highly sought after by lighting professionals.
Gardco was established in San Francisco, California in 1961 as a small custom lighting manufacturer. Its founder was Reed Gardner, a former salesman who boldly quit his regular job to start his own company in the still-young but vibrant outdoor lighting industry. Later, the flourishing company was bought by Netherlands-based Philips Lighting (now Signify).
Gardco currently manufactures architectural and landscape lighting in various categories. These include building-mounted scones, bollards, garage and canopy lighting, walkway balls, aisle and step lights, spotlights, and floodlights. Besides these, Gardco also has a wide assortment of poles and brackets for customers to choose from.
The company is now headquartered in San Marcos, Texas but Gardco Lighting distributors and partners are spread across the US and around the globe.  Consumers, lighting designers, and specifiers can easily make contact with them using the Agent Locator on the Gardco website.
Gardco Lighting has been credited with several major lighting innovations. Chief among its early contributions is the Form Ten optical system which is hailed as the industry’s first-ever segmented faceted reflector system. Many years later, the Form Ten remains among the products the company offers.
New innovations are being accomplished at Gardco’s state-of-the-art manufacturing and engineering facility in San Marcos. The facility houses Gardco’s high-tech power coat paint system and is equipped for CNC spinning and metal fabrication. It also features a UL-certified laboratory where the company’s engineers conduct thermal and photometric tests, as well as several other performance checks on its products and components.
Evidence of Gardco Lighting’s commitment to producing environmentally-friendly lighting solutions can be seen in the large selection of LED luminaires the company manufactures. Take the Gardco bollards lights, for example. These are available in three separate families and each one gives customers the benefits only LED luminaires can provide.
Furthermore, many of the iconic luminaires in Gardco’s collection have been LED-upgraded to ensure energy efficiency, high performance, and durability. Among them are the Form Ten and Gullwing legacy families of luminaires. One popular example is the Gullwing Area Large LED GL18. Its sleek luminaire-to-pole design beautifully complements its glare-free, full-cutoff, high-performance optics. The Gardco GL18 is available in both single and twin varieties but the company also offers a mast arm transition so the GL18 can be retrofitted to existing mast arms.
Another good example is the Philips Gardco PureForm LED family of site and area luminaires. It was the honoree in the Parking, Roadway and Area Luminaires category at the 2018 LFI Innovation Awards. Within the PureForm LED family is the Gardco P21 area and pedestrian lighting solution.  It can be bought with any of four arm mount variations and an abundance of specification options to choose from.
Gardco also provides custom-made luminaires, poles, and accessories, as well as customized paint finishes upon request. In order to ensure its customers enjoy the full benefits of using its products, Gardco hosts regular in-depth training seminars as a part of its overall customer service package. Also, a Gardco Lighting rep is always available to assist consumers and lighting professionals in their choice of the ideal lighting solution.
